Boston’s Community Thrift Market

Style Exchange is a community thrift market born out of a love for our neighbors and intentional shopping. The idea took shape while Shea was studying abroad in Copenhagen, where weekly pop-up markets made thrifting feel social, accessible, and deeply rooted in community. When she returned to Boston, that experience was missing, so she built it herself.

What started as a single event has grown into a series of pop-ups across the city, creating a space where community members can sell their own clothing, shop more sustainably, and refresh their wardrobes without relying on fast fashion, making thrifting accessible, social, and intentional in Boston.

Seller FAQ’s

  • Just bring your clothes and enough hangers! We will provide the space and a clothing rack for you to hang your clothes. We also, recommend having Venmo set up to get paid by shoppers!

  • You will receive an email during the week of the event with detailed information on setup times, parking, loading instructions, and pack-up times. This email will be sent to the email address used when registering on Eventbrite.

  • You can sign up to sell by visiting our Eventbrite link below, where you’ll see all upcoming events with available seller spots. Please note that seller slots often sell out quickly.

We give priority to community members who have attended a previous event as a shopper, so we highly recommend coming to an event in person first.

For those who want guaranteed access, we also offer an Early Access Monthly Subscription, which allows you to sign up for each event that month before general release. You can find more details on our Store page.

  • The racks are 48" and hold about 20 pieces of clothing. For the best shopping experience, please avoid overpacking. If you plan to bring more than 20 items, we recommend purchasing a second rack.

  • Table availability varies by venue. Smaller indoor locations typically do not allow tables. For larger events, vendors who wish to set up a table must purchase a Bring Your Own Table ticket, as space is limited and carefully planned to ensure a comfortable experience for everyone.

  • Only ticketed racks and tables are permitted at our events. Even if you are signed up as a seller, bringing additional racks or equipment is not allowed. Seller space is carefully calculated in advance, and we can only accommodate the racks and tables included with purchased tickets.

  • We recommend bringing your clothing and hangers in a small wagon or suitcase to make setup easier. Parking is often limited at our venues, and compact transport options help ensure a smoother load-in and setup experience.

Shopper FAQ’s

  • Shopping is free unless otherwise noted on Eventbrite. However, some venues require a paid shopper ticket, which may include food or drinks. The best way to confirm whether an event is free is to register as a shopper on Eventbrite and review the event details.

  • You do not need to sign up in advance to attend. However, registering on Eventbrite gives you first access if there is a line and is required for ticketed events, so we highly recommend signing up ahead of time. You can also register at the door if needed.

  • Many shoppers arrive right when the event begins, which is typically the busiest time. You’re welcome to attend at any point during the posted hours and stay as long as you’d like. We recommend stopping by later in the event, as sellers often put out items in waves and frequently discount their best pieces toward the end.

  • You pay for each item directly at the rack where you found it. Each seller accepts their own payment methods, which may include cash, tap-to-pay, Venmo, Cash App, or Zelle. In our experience, the majority of transactions are completed via Venmo.

  • Seller space is carefully planned, and we cannot accommodate more sellers than the number of tickets available. We also do not offer rack rentals or seller sign-ups at the door; participation must be secured in advance to ensure proper spacing and a smooth event experience.
